The list grows and shrinks as the days come and go and the tides ebb and flow… and I’m probably blogging about it at some time or another. If not yet, give it time. I also take suggestions.

PEACE. “Life is good. Don’t stress. Just do it. Be the Zen.” My signature sign-off (PEACE.) started back in 1997 when I was a columnist for the Pensacola News Journal in Florida, USA. Here’s how…

My Ladybug, Nicole Leigh, was born January 16, 1998 at 4:38 pm. (7 lbs. 5 oz, 20 1/2 in.) She popped out like a big, wet fish, let out one big yelp, looked straight in my eyes… and my life hasn’t been the same since. She got her first Jeopardy question at age 2. Ask her. She’ll tell you the story. Chip off the old block!

The NFL – National Football League – is my religion. It all started back in the 60s with Sunday Service in front of the TV with aluminum foil on the antennas. A place of bonding for step-father and son. In my adulthood, “Are you ready for some football?!” is akin to “Hallelujah, Praise Jesus!” And everybody in the church said, “AMEN!”

I AM a life-long, die-hard, Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. Six (count ‘em 6) Super Bowls says it all. Super Bowl IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL and XLIII. Ye are the football team of gods! Lynn Swann, John Stallworth, Terry Bradshaw, Franco Harris, Mean Joe Green, Ernie Holmes, L.C. Greenwood, Jerome Bettis, Hines Ward! Can’t name ‘em all. (Special tip to ‘Jefferson Street’ Joe Gillum.) And YES we are the reighning champs!

JEOPARDY! is the ONLY game show worth watching. You actually must have a brain and YES you must state your answer in the form of a question! Thanks to my mom, my sisters and an ex-wife for being such great players. I have the mobile version on my cell phone.

Gene Roddenberry was a genius (and still is somewhere in another lifetime, dimension or parallel universe). I have been told I am a Trekker, and not a true Trekkie, but is still love Star Trek above all others. I may not be a Trekkie, but I still know more that the average person should care about. Go ahead, try me! Qaplah! (Additional note: May 2009 – the latest movie is the best so far!) 

I was also a Boy Scout back in the day (and a Cub Scout and a Webelos). It definitely helped shape my thinking (and it may also help compensate for the Virgo thing). As I remember it, “a scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.”
I get by with a little help from my friends. I still dig camping.

The 70s was my prime. P-Funk was my time. Make my funk the P-Funk. I want my funk uncut. George Clinton is another genius – thanks for making me happy with your music. Special holla to James Brown – the originator of funk. I must recognize! (Everything is on the one!)

1957 Porsche. That’s My Car! (you remember that game I know!) It will be the fist in my collection.

and finally, I am a Virgo and I do not apologize. I try to do better, but I do not apologize. If you have a Virgo in your life, you know what I mean!
