If you’re over 40 STOP jumping into fitness programs until you do these 3 things!
#1. Loosen Up Those Tight Muscles! – I’m not talking about doing a few warmup stretches. I start all of my over 40 clients with a program of 2 to 8 weeks of nothing but stretching and foam rolling. Because by the time you’re in your 40s, 50s or 60s… You gotta admit – your ass is really tight. And it doesn’t make sense to start banging out exercises and make your muscles even tighter. You’ll end up super sore – you’ll hate exercising AND your coach… And you probably won’t stick with it for long.
#2. Fix Those Creaky Joints! – So is it your knees… your shoulders… your neck… your back… your achin’ sacroiliac? Since you’re not 25 anymore… you likely have some previously injured or over-used joint that’s preventing you from enjoying life like you want to… and again… banging on that joint with vigorous exercise is only going to make it worse. So get your trainer to tailor a CORRECTIVE EXERCISE PROGRAM designed to relieve that joint pain The right stretches, foam rolling techniques and strengthening exercises could have that joint working like new – without drugs or surgery…
#3. Don’t Be the Lone Ranger – The best partners you could have on the journey are an experienced trainer and a reliable workout partner…You should rely on both of them to hold you accountable and keep you from being a slacker. And even the Lone Ranger had Tonto by his side!
