CHALLENGES: The One Challenge That Matters Most

Lots of trainers love to dish out fitness challenges—30-day this, 6-week that. And while those can be fun, I only take on one challenge. It’s the same challenge I gave myself over 45 years ago, back in 1977 when I was just 20 years old: Stay healthy and fit for the rest of my life.

No gimmicks. No deadlines. Just one big, lifelong commitment to myself. Every other challenge I’ve taken on since then—whether it’s a new workout, a tournament, or a nutrition tweak—has simply been in support of that one overarching goal.

How’s It Going?

I’m here today, still standing, still moving, still strong—and still committed. So far, so good. But let’s be clear: this isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up, making the best choices I can in the moment, and adjusting when life throws curveballs.

Has it always been easy? Hell no. But I’ll tell you this: there’s nothing more rewarding than being able to look in the mirror, on any given day, and say, “I’m doing the work.”

Now, It’s Your Turn

Today, I’m challenging YOU to take on the same lifelong commitment: Stay healthy and fit for the rest of your life. Not for 30 days. Not for 6 weeks. Forever.

Here’s the thing: you don’t have to go all-in right away. Big goals are achieved by small, consistent actions. Start by asking yourself:

  • What’s ONE thing I can do today to move closer to a healthier, stronger version of myself?
  • What habits can I build over time to make fitness and wellness a sustainable part of my life?

The beauty of this challenge is that it’s YOURS. Your timeline, your rules, your journey. My job? To cheer you on, keep you inspired, and throw out smaller challenges along the way to help you stay on track.

Your First Step

Start today. Whether it’s a walk around the block, a new workout, ditching junk food, or simply drinking more water, make one choice today that supports your commitment to lifelong health and fitness. Then, keep showing up.

Stay Tuned: More Challenges to Come

This is just the beginning. I’ll be dropping smaller challenges along the way—each one designed to keep you moving, motivated, and focused on your ultimate goal. Remember, the only way to win this challenge is to keep showing up.

PEACE.
