Video Synopsis: Today in another flashback video, I want to share a little insight into the often underestimated art of breathing during exercise. Here’s the deal: When it comes to working out, some folks might think it’s cool not to breathe hard. Well, let me tell you, that heavy breathing is a sign your muscles are ready to roll.
Your muscles crave oxygen to function efficiently. In my boot camps, I often say, “When you start breathing heavy, your muscles are saying, ‘Hey, feed me air, and I’ll do whatever you ask!'” So, heavy breathing is not a weakness; it’s your muscles signaling they need fuel.
If you’ve ever worked out with me or observed, you know I’m heavy breathing right from the start. Why? Because I want to preemptively feed my muscles with the oxygen they need. I’m not waiting for an emergency; I’m breathing deeply before it becomes necessary.
So, here’s the takeaway: Breathe deeply, breathe heavily, don’t be shy about it. Your muscles are simply saying, “Feed me, and I’ll deliver.” It’s a key part of ensuring a successful and effective workout.
PEACE.
